The Public Works Department will be holding a second Public Meeting regarding traffic calming on Fernside Boulevard between Encinal Avenue and High Street.

The meeting will be held on April 24, 2008, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Multi-Use Room of Edison Elementary School located at 2700 Buena Vista Avenue.

During the first meeting Public Works staff had received comments from residents on potential traffic calming issues. In light of these comments, staff is considering several options aimed to address the traffic and pedestrian concerns. These options will be presented at the meeting at which Fernside residents will be able to review and provide feedback on preferred plans. As requested at the previous public meeting, Alameda Police Department has been invited to attend the meeting to discuss traffic enforcement concerns.
