City Charter
The City Charter is a document, voted into place by the citizens, that describes in detail the form and structure of Alameda's municipal government.
Municipal Code
The Municipal Code is the body of law that has been enacted by City Council.
General Plan
The General Plan is a document adopted by the City Council to guide the City's future physical development. A city's general plan has been described as its constitution for conservation and development -- the framework within which decisions on how to grow, provide public services and facilities, and protect and enhance the community must be made.
Housing Element
The Housing Element is the City's policy document for meeting all of its housing needs, including housing affordable to low and moderate-income families.
Grievance Policy
The City of Alameda is committed to ensuring that people with disabilities are able to take part in, and benefit from the whole range of public programs, services and activities offered by the City. Regulations require that public entities adopt and publish grievance procedures to assure the prompt and equitable resolution of complaints.
